The Government today announced that support service for the real-name registration for SIM cards at 25 MTR stations will be enhanced starting tomorrow to February 23 to assist users of pre-paid SIM cards (PPS cards) to complete real-name registration.

The support stations will open between 9am and 6pm daily. Apart from providing enquiry service on real-name registration for SIM cards, the stations will assist people in need to complete registration through their own mobile devices.

Users who have not yet completed real-name registration may also seek assistance from the retail outlets of their telecommunications service providers and the service counters set up in 18 designated post offices.

The support services are free of charge. People in need should bring along their identity cards, PPS cards and mobile phones capable of receiving SMS notifications for staff to aid them in completing registration through websites or mobile apps of the telecommunications service providers.

Users aged below 16 must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or above for completing the registration. Personal information of that adult will need to be registered with the telecommunications service provider concurrently.

Visit the thematic webpage or call 2961 6699 for more information on the real-name registration for SIM cards.
