The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government today said it is highly concerned about the restriction imposed by the Korean authority that requires passenger flights from Hong Kong to only land at Incheon International Airport. It is following up on the restriction with a view to minimising the impact on Hong Kong travellers.
The Hong Kong SAR Government noted that passenger flights from Hong Kong will only be permitted to land at Incheon International Airport starting from today till the end of next month.
It considers the restriction - which targets flights departing from Hong Kong - unreasonable. It has written to the Korean authority and liaised with the Consulate General of Korea in Hong Kong to express its grave concern and strongly request the authority to withdraw the restriction.
The Transport & Logistics Bureau has reminded local airlines to inform affected travellers of the latest flight arrangements as soon as possible and to provide the necessary support and assistance.
