SUN DONG TO DEPART FOR GZ

Secretary for Innovation, Technology & Industry Prof Sun Dong will depart tomorrow for Nansha, Guangzhou, where will deliver a speech at the opening ceremony of 2024 China Cybersecurity Week.

Taking as its theme “Cybersecurity for the People, Cybersecurity relies on the People”, this year’s cybersecurity week is hosted by the Cyberspace Administration of China.

Activities through the week include the Cybersecurity Technology Summit and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Cybersecurity Conference, and the Cybersecurity Expo, which will focus on the topic of jointly fostering a safer defence line for cybersecurity.

Experts and representatives of relevant government departments, institutions of higher education and enterprises from the Mainland, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government and the Macao SAR Government will be invited to give keynote speeches.

Prof Sun will return to Hong Kong in the afternoon of September 8. During his absence, Under Secretary for Innovation, Technology & Industry Lillian Cheong will be Acting Secretary.
