Sun Dong headed to Xiâan

Secretary for Innovation, Technology & Industry Prof Sun Dong will lead a Hong Kong delegation to Xi'an tomorrow for the 18th meeting of the Mainland/Hong Kong Science & Technology Co-operation Committee.

The committee is tasked with organising and co-ordinating technological exchange and co-operation between the Mainland and Hong Kong.

Prof Sun and Vice Minister of Science & Technology Lin Xin will co-chair the meeting.

During his stay in Xi'an, Prof Sun will call on Shaanxi Province and Xi'an Municipality leaders, as well as visit local scientific research platforms.

Members of the Hong Kong delegation include representatives from universities, innovation and technology parks, and research and development institutes.

Prof Sun will return to Hong Kong on Wednesday. During his absence, Under Secretary for Innovation, Technology & Industry Lillian Cheong will be the Acting Secretary.
