Chief Executive John Lee started his visit programme to Lima, Peru.
Yesterday, he received President Xi Jinping who arrived to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leadersâ Meeting and visit Peru.
Mr Lee then called on a firm specialising in alpaca fibres to learn about its development history, product features and Asia exports, exploring business opportunities to promote co-operation between Peruvian and Hong Kong companies.
In the evening, the Chief Executive, accompanied by Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development Algernon Yau, had dinner with Hong Kong, Chinaâs representative to the APEC Business Advisory Council to exchange views on various issues, including promoting Hong Kongâs advantages and development opportunities and enhancing the Hong Kongâs collaboration with other economies.
Mr Yau also joined the APEC Ministerial Meeting to share Hong Kongâs work in promoting digitalisation, as well as inclusive and sustainable growth of trade.
Mr Lee will participate in the APEC Leadersâ Informal Dialogue with Guests, the APEC Leadersâ Dialogue with the APEC Business Advisory Council, and a gala dinner hosted by the organiser for participating leaders. He will also attend the APEC Economic Leadersâ Meeting.
