Public utility electronic bills can now be used as proof of address during online applications for the renewal of vehicle or full driving licences through the iAM Smart mobile app, the Government announced.
The Office of the Government Chief Information Officer today said the Transport Department has adopted the iAM Smart app's Address Data Function to implement the initiative and make the licence renewal process more convenient.
Users can save the address on their electronic utility bills on iAM Smart through the “e-ME” auto form filling function and submit the saved data as the proof of address, without the need to separately upload other documents as an address proof.
Apart from Transport Department driving licence renewals, citizens can use the Address Data Function in the Change of Address service to notify multiple government departments if they are moving to a new home, the office added.
