The Government today launched a public consultation on the proposed updates to Schedules 1 and 2 to the Toys & Children's Products Safety Ordinance.
The updating exercise is to implement up-to-date safety standards promulgated by the relevant standards institutions for toys and children's products listed in Schedule 2 of the ordinance.
As the safety standards specified for toys and for six classes of Schedule 2 products have been updated, the Government proposed to adopt the up-to-date versions of those safety standards under the ordinance.
The six classes of the aforesaid products are baby walking frames, bunk beds for domestic use, child safety barriers for domestic use, children's paints, playpens for domestic use, and wheeled child conveyances.
