Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development Algernon Yau will lead a delegation of enterprises from Belt & Road countries operating in Hong Kong to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area tomorrow for a two-day visit.
The visit is the first business networking event organised by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government for enterprises of the Belt & Road countries running in Hong Kong. The purpose is to promote Hong Kong as a service hub in assisting enterprises to tap the Mainland market.
Delegation members include 20 representatives from the enterprises, Commissioner for Belt & Road Nicholas Ho as well as representatives from the Office for Attracting Strategic Enterprises, the Hong Kong Economic & Trade Office in Guangdong, the Independent Commission Against Corruption and Invest Hong Kong.
Under the themes of green development and innovation and technology, the delegates will tour a number of renowned enterprises and organisations in Shenzhen and Guangzhou to learn about the latest development of the high-quality industries there. They will also exchange views with senior government officials of both cities.
During Mr Yau’s absence, Under Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development Bernard Chan will be Acting Secretary.
