The Culture, Sports & Tourism Bureau today convened a meeting to co-ordinate preparations for visitor arrivals to Hong Kong during the Mainland's Labour Day Golden Week from May 1 to 5.

The meeting was hosted by Secretary for Culture, Sports & Tourism Kevin Yeung, with representatives from the Customs & Excise Department, Police, the Immigration Department, the Transport Department and district offices in attendance.

Representatives from tourism-related organisations including the Travel Industry Authority, the Tourism Board, the Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong and the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority, and from major tourist attractions and the hotel industry, also took part in the session.

Mr Yeung said that in anticipation of the increased number of visitors to the city during the Labour Day Golden Week, government departments and relevant organisations will work closely, make early preparations for active deployment of resources and step up co-ordination with the relevant Mainland authorities to create good travel experiences for visitors.
