Financial Secretary Paul Chan yesterday concluded his visit to the US by visiting two technology companies in Silicon Valley.
One of the companies recycles plastic materials. Mr Chan toured their research and development (R&D) facilities to learn about their patented technologies.
He also introduced Hong Kong's policies in promoting innovation and technology, and measures to attract enterprises and talent.
Mr Chan encouraged the company to set up R&D and production bases in Hong Kong, and use the city as a platform to explore the Mainland China and Asian markets.
In the evening, the Financial Secretary attended a reception hosted by the California-China Climate Institute where he exchanged views with Mainland and international guests.
Mr Chan is scheduled to arrive back in Hong Kong tomorrow morning.
