RTHK ADVISORY CHIEF REAPPOINTED

The Government announced today that the Chief Executive has reappointed Lam Tai-fai as Chairman of the Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) Board of Advisors.

The Chief Executive has also reappointed five incumbent members and appointed seven new members to the board.

They will serve for two years with effect from September 1.

The five incumbent members who have been reappointed are Prof Ronald Chiu, Stanley Choi, Hsu Hoi-shan, Hendrick Sin and Thomas So. The seven new members are Ivan Chan, Kitty Chau, Meggy Cheng, Geoffrey Edward Kao, Robert Andrew Lui, Jim Luk and Tse Wai-lok.

Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development Algernon Yau said he is grateful that Dr Lam and the five incumbent members have accepted reappointment to continue serving on the board.

“The board has provided invaluable advice to the Director of Broadcasting and assisted RTHK in fulfilling its public purposes and mission as set out in the Charter of RTHK,” he added.

The commerce chief also welcomed the new members joining the board, noting that their professional knowledge and rich social experience will facilitate its work.

He also thanked outgoing members Dilys Chau, Linda Choy, Prof Anthony Fung, Shirley Loo, Tik Chi-yuen, Eva Wong and Elaine Wu for their contributions.
