The Major Sports Events Committee today said it awarded "M" Mark status to the Bank of China (Hong Kong) Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HK Section) Half Marathon, 2025 IBF World Cup and IBF Para Bowling World Championships.
Committee Chairman Wilfred Ng said the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HK Section) Half Marathon, scheduled for January 5, has been elevated to a gold label road race by World Athletics, which is a recognition of the organiser in Hong Kong.
The finals of the IBF Bowling World Cup will be held from January 5 to 14 at the temporarily-installed lanes at Queen Elizabeth Stadium, Wan Chai, which can accommodate more spectators.
While the IBF Para Bowling Championships, to be held from January 17 to 24, is the first world championship for people with disabilities being awarded "M" Mark status.
âWe believe that hosting these world-class international sporting events in Hong Kong will enhance its status as the capital of international sports events,â Mr Ng added.
