FINTECH WEEK DETAILS UNVEILED

Hong Kong FinTech Week 2022 will take place in person and virtually from October 31 to November 4 with the theme of "Pushing Boundaries, Reaping Benefits".

Secretary for Financial Services & the Treasury Christopher Hui said the Financial Services & the Treasury Bureau and Invest Hong Kong (InvestHK) as the organisers will join hands with co-organisers and the industry to showcase the vitality of Hong Kong’s fintech ecosystem to the global markets in innovative ways.

He said: “To support the emerging technologies Web3 and the metaverse as a focus of this year's event, we will issue non-fungible tokens (NFTs) for the first time to test their ability to engage participants.

“At the same time, the Government will issue a policy statement on the development of virtual assets in Hong Kong, demonstrating to the global virtual assets community our vision of developing Hong Kong into an international virtual assets centre."

The conference will bring together global leaders and renowned sponsors across different verticals, alongside world-leading fintech innovations to explore the future development of fintech through four key themes - global fintech outlook, fintech in the Mainland and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the implementation of emerging technologies, and digital assets.

The event is expected to host over 250 speakers, 400 exhibitors, and more than 30 delegations, welcoming over 20,000 attendees and attracting more than three million views from over 80 economies to the event.

The main physical conference will take place between October 31 and November 1.

Other activities will include a fintech expo, tech demo sessions, a pitching competition, a startup zone, a deal floor in the main conference, as well as over 20 workshops and satellite events.
